Florida Commission
on Human Relations. The Commission is the fair employment practices
agency of the State of Florida. It is Florida's counterpart to the federal
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. It was created by legislature
to administer and process claims under Florida's employment and housing
discrimination laws. It is located at 2009 Apalachee Parkway, Suite 100,
Tallahassee, FL 32301 (850) 488-7082.
Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission. The EECO is the federal fair employment practices agency.
It was created by the United States Congress to administer and process
claims under the federal employment discrimination laws.
Department of Labor.
The Department of Labor is a federal agency which admininsters numerous
laws regulating labor relations including the wage and hour laws that
mandate payment of overtime and the minimum wage and the Family Medical
Leave Act.
National Employment
Lawyers Association. The NELA is the largest national organization
of lawyers who represent employees in discrimination and employment law
matters.
Florida NELA.
The Florida NELA is the Florida Chapter of the NELA which is composed
of Florida lawyers who represent employees in discrimination and employment
law matters.
Workplace
Fairness. This highly informative website provides information, education
and assistance to individual workers and their advocates nationwide and
promotes public policies that advance employee rights.
